Lodge maintenance was brought to a standstill this afternoon as we ran into two of the Selati male lions and two Othawa lionesses close to where we were about to fix some wires. There was an aborted mating attempt by one pair that turned into a brawl between the two males. A herd of elephants came to join the fun and scattered the lions in the general direction of the staff rooms. For the last hour or so we have been watching the four big cats prowl around the buildings. One of the males was roaring too. They now seem to have moved off but the elephants are still trumpeting close by!
